GTA 40 Cordless Pruner

The GTA 40 Cordless Pruner is STIHL’s first dedicated battery-powered pruner designed for professional use. This versatile tool is part of the AS System and comes equipped with two AS 2 lithium-ion batteries and an AL 5-2 charger, making it ideal for tree and shrub care, horticulture, landscaping, and processing wood on construction sites.

With a rated voltage of 21.6 V and a power output of 0.41 kW, the GTA 40 delivers impressive performance comparable to petrol-powered tools. The 15 cm (6 inches) light guide bar, combined with a ¼” PM3 saw chain, ensures clean and precise cuts. The variable chain speed allows users to maintain full control over the cutting speed, enhancing efficiency during use.

Designed for both ground and aerial applications, the GTA 40 features a powerful EC engine, automatic chain lubrication, and a tool-free chain oil tank with sufficient volume for use with six AS 2 batteries. The sprocket cover with side-mounted chain tensioning simplifies maintenance, while the soft rubberized handle and upper grip provide comfort and prevent slipping during operation. The claw-shaped deflector at the top of the tool separates the upper grip area from the cutting attachment, ensuring safety and ease of use.

The GTA 40 is designed for two-handed operation, making it suitable for both right and left-handed users, thanks to the rocker switch located on both sides of the tool. An attachment ring allows for easy access by hooking the tool onto a belt, whether working on the ground or in the air. For added convenience, a holster is available for quick access during work.

The tool operates with two AS 2 batteries that discharge in parallel, and it cannot be used with only one battery. The charge level indicator is conveniently located on the top of the tool for easy monitoring.

With a working time of approximately 50 minutes, the GTA 40 can make around 190 cuts on 5 cm branches. Certified to IPX4 protection class, the pruner and batteries are splashproof, allowing for use in adverse weather conditions.

Included in the scope of delivery are a 15 cm light guide bar, a 1/4" PM3 saw chain, and an attachment ring. Please note that a hard case is not included with the tool-only version but is available with the GTA 40 set.
